Juice Plus+

Nutrition is the foundation of good health. We have to flood our bodies with the most important foods we could ever eat, which are raw fruits, vegetables and berries. They are not just good for you, they’re absolutely critical. We’re supposed to eat a wide variety of 9-13 servings every day but almost no one does. Think about it—how many days in the past week have you gotten in 9-13 servings of fruits, vegetables and berries? Even the best eaters need help, and that’s why I am so thankful to offer the nutritional support of something called Juice Plus+.

Juice Plus+ is over 30 different raw, vine-ripened whole foods. It is non-GMO, Vegan and NSF certified to be pure. I love to call it a salad in a capsule. And I love salads!!

It’s important to understand the process that the plants go through to be encapsulated or put into chewable form. First of all, our fruits, vegetables and berries are completely vine-ripened. They remain attached to the plant until the nutrition is fully developed. The fruits and vegetables are then ground up, which is better than simply juicing. We use the entire whole food including peels, leaves, and seeds whenever possible which provides much more nutrition. In an orange for example, up to 80% of the vitamin C is found in the peel. I don’t know about you but I’m not eating orange peels very often! It is slowly dried at low temperatures, preserving the live nutrients—and then put into capsules and chewables.

Here’s what I love about Juice Plus+:

It’s scientifically proven. Juice Plus+® is the most researched nutritional product in the world with 38 published studies in peer-reviewed medical journals with several more on the way in the near future.

It’s food, not a vitamin. It has a nutrition label, not a vitamin label. It’s the same label you’ll
see on a bag of frozen broccoli in the grocery store. The government considers this food.

No warning label—safe for people of all ages, pregnant & nursing mothers, children, elderly, and even professional athletes.

Oh baby, it's hot outside!

Hello lovelies! Summer is the time for sunny days, swimming pools, dips in the river, berry picking, gardening and sweating. Here in the PNW we had some extremely hot days this past week and my family and I escaped to the Sandy river to cool off. On our last day there, my daughter was cranky, tired, and uninterested in anything we suggested. She wasn't even excited about ice cream! I realized that she was over heated and slowly began giving her sips of water. I put some ice in my water bottle and carried it around with me, asking her to take sips every few minutes. She bounced back to her sassy self within an hour. We all need reminders to stay hydrated. Check out my favorite ways to be chill and refill.   Fun ways to stay hydrated! *Add Citrus, fresh berries, veggie slices or herbs to water or sparkling water *Place a berry or other fruit into your ice cube trays  and freeze with water. *Freeze herbal tea into ice cube trays and add to water. Navigating the Hood to Coast: from 0 to 60, with some speed bumps...

How I learned to hate and love running... Even though I ran track in high school, I call myself a beginner runner.  I occasionally run for exercise and to clear my head, but have never been a long distance runner.  Ever.  I'm too restless. I get bored quickly. I like to run fast. I can't find the right music to run too. The list of excuses is long.  So why would I sign up for the grueling 199 mile relay race called Hood To Coast? Like a lot of people, I both love a challenge and love to be fit.  And like a lot of people, I need a push to get started. The wanting itself isn't enough to get me out the door; I need to have a specific, concrete reason to exercise.  It's this ambivalence that drives the entire Running Race industry.  Their product is motivation and I am a reluctant consumer. The Hood To Coast relay is a Goliath in the Racing Calendar.  Both a logistical and endurance feat that brings in teams of 12 from around the globe, elite r...
